Some of the dancers really go all
out with black and white spectator shoes, wide brimmed hats,
bright zoot suits, double-looped watch chains, fancy ties,
and wide skirted 50's dresses.
Line dances are also popular at
swing city. We teach and practice the Charleston, shim sham, hot hot hot,
shake that thang, jitterbug stroll, and many more.

We play a variety of music, and dance a wide range of dance

Swing City is the largest saturday
night singles dance lesson and practice time in Pittsburgh! You're sure to run into
old friends and make new friends in the relaxed, smoke-free

The dance hall is located in Squirrel
Hill on Solway street in the Wightman School Community Building.
The dance lesson and practice are held every Saturday night, and beginner dance
lessons are from 8 to 9 PM. The dance practice goes until midnight,
and there is a cover charge of $11.00
for this air-conditioned, all ages and nonsmoking event.
To find Swing City, take the parkway
east to the Squirrel Hill exit, then make the first immediate
left. Go up to the light at Murray. Make a soft left onto
Murray and go for one mile - then make a left on Solway.
Swing City is in the middle of the second block on the left.
